Walk for Wellbeing for Schools

Junior School Children Leaving School

To mark World Mental Health Day (10 October), we’re inviting teachers and students to walk - or wheel - one mile between 6 and 12 October.

You can do laps round the playground or even indoors in the hall – every step counts in support of mental wellbeing.

We know how busy teachers are, so we’re making this as easy as possible for you! When you sign up, you’ll receive a FREE Activity Pack, including:

  • A ready-to-use lesson plan all about wellbeing
  • Fun and engaging activity ideas to make the walk exciting for students
  • Printable resources to help raise awareness of young people’s mental health

As the NHS says, there are so many good reasons to get moving. Research shows that physical activity can help school-aged children in lots of ways, including:

  • Improving attention levels and performance at school
  • Strengthening muscles and bones
  • Improving health and fitness
  • Helping them sleep better
  • Improving mood and making them feel good

Walking or wheeling together can be a really enjoyable and social way to be active.

Let’s walk together for better mental health!
