Corporate fundraising

Our relationships with a wide range of organisations, large and small, take a variety of forms but they all play a very important part in our work.

Some choose us as their formal charity partner, for a year or longer. Some sponsor a Charlie Waller event. Some organise a one-off fundraising effort. Others support us through gifts in kind, or simply help us spread the word about what we do.

Whatever form of support your organisation gives us, it can have a powerful impact:

  • You will be sending a strong message to your colleagues that you recognise the importance of supporting their mental health and wellbeing, helping to open up the conversation with them.
  • You will be helping us deliver on our vision - of a world where people understand and talk openly about mental health, where young people and those who support them are equipped to maintain and enhance their mental health and wellbeing, and have the confidence to seek help when they need it.
  • And by doing so, you will be contributing to the creation of a mentally healthy workforce for tomorrow.

"We are very much looking forward to supporting Charlie Waller, helping them to engage with more young people across the country on this vitally important topic. Mental wellbeing is a central theme to us as a firm, therefore we also hope to learn from the charity so that we are all better equipped to support anyone experiencing mental health related problems".

Nirav Patel, Senior Associate & Chairman of CSR Committee, Michelmores
“At ECI we're really proud that our 2020 designated charity is the Charlie Waller Trust, which does such a fantastic job supporting young people to look after their mental health. We selected Charlie Waller pre-COVID-19 but the partnership has felt even more relevant and pertinent as we entered lockdown.”

Jeremy Lytle, Investor Relations Partner, ECI Partners
“Supporting good mental health is tremendously important, and so we are delighted to have the Charlie Waller Trust as our charity partner this year.  We are looking forward to raising funds for them so they may continue their excellent work promoting mental wellbeing among young people in educational establishments, the workplace and elsewhere.”

Paul Stott, Managing Partner, Mercers Law
“At Boden, we have been delighted to support Charlie Waller. We’re passionate about the work they do to provide practical coping strategies, training and resources around mental wellbeing. Mental health has always been an important issue for us as a business and our customers, so when the opportunity arose to support the Trust back in 2018, we jumped at the chance to help raise funds – and importantly – open up the conversation around mental health with both customers and staff.”

Become a Corporate Partner

Every year, organisations choose Charlie Waller as their Charity Partner. A partnership can take a number of forms, and can either be for a fixed period or open-ended.

Our starting point is to understand your motivation for supporting Charlie Waller and your specific organisational needs around mental health and wellbeing.

This creates the basis for a highly productive two-way relationship, where you support us through fundraising, and through raising awareness of our work amongst your stakeholders.

In turn, we work with you to enhance the way in which you support your people’s mental health and wellbeing, adopting our Workplace Programme’s 'whole organisation' approach to embed a positive mental health culture within the ethos of your organisation.

That way, a partnership with Charlie Waller can make a tangible and sustainable difference to your organisation and to your people, whilst generating much needed funds and awareness for us, allowing us to extend our work in support of young people across the country.

If you’re interested in becoming a Corporate Partner, please get in touch and we can discuss a tailored partnership offer that best suits the needs of your organisation.

Sponsor a Charlie Waller event

We are often looking for corporate sponsors for fundraising and other events we put on every year.  Sponsoring a Charlie Waller event is a very effective way of raising awareness of your brand, helps you reach and engage with new audiences, and sends a strong signal to your employees and other stakeholders about your engagement with the issue of mental health and wellbeing.

Charlie Waller events in recent years that have attracted successful corporate sponsorship include formal dinners, classical concerts and our annual Christmas carol services in London and Berkshire.

Organise a fundraising event

Many companies like to put on one-off fundraising events and activities for us, often to coincide with other, wider mental health initiatives such as Mental Health Awareness Week. As well as raising funds for Charlie Waller, this is a great and positive way of opening up the conversation around mental health and wellbeing with your colleagues.

Our fundraising team would be delighted to talk to you about what can be done and how we can work with you to make your event a success, for you as well as for Charlie Waller.

Alternatively, why not encourage employees to take on individual challenges? Many employers offer Matched Giving schemes where they make a contribution towards fundraising that employees undertake – either matching that fundraising pound-for-pound or agreeing a fixed amount to donate up front. Corporate donations made through Matched Giving are eligible for tax relief.

Sponsor the Charlie Waller Book Club for schools

Our hugely popular Book Club initiative enables school staff to discover new resources and build on their knowledge and skills about the mental health and emotional wellbeing of the children they work with. Member schools of the Charlie Waller Book Club receive one of our expertly selected titles every term. We currently send out around 800 books a term, and membership is growing all the time.

Sponsorship of the Book Club, either for a term or an academic year, will allow us to extend its impact to more schools, teachers and children.

Gifts in kind

You can support Charlie Waller by offering gifts in kind. These could be in the form of room space for meetings we hold outside our office (generally in central London) or venues for a one-off fundraising event. Or there may be other possibilities, specific to your business, that could help us maximise the impact of our charitable activities.

Introduce payroll giving

Creating a payroll giving scheme enables your employees to donate to Charlie Waller without paying tax on the donation. It's simple to set up and run and is an excellent way for you to support their charitable giving.

Contact an HMRC-approved Payroll Giving agency to set up a scheme.
