The Grand Sandwich

On 12 September, contemporary rock band Jam Sandwich will be back at the Clapham Grand for a fantastic night of music and fundraising for the Trust.

Bass and keyboard player Jeremy Garret-Cox was at both Radley College and Durham University with Charlie Waller, and he and the band have been supporting the Trust for many years. They held a similar Grand Sandwich event a couple of years ago and raised £10,000 for the Trust. Jeremy says: “We had a close call with poor mental health within the band and that’s why we wanted to support the Trust.”

Jeremy describes Jam Sandwich as “a five-piece contemporary rock and dance act, playing rock anthems and dance floor bangers”. He adds: “We’re unique given that all of us have busy family and professional lives and, as a result, we only perform where the fun is! Our shows brim with energy because, in essence, the band is a close-knit team of friends on a night out.” 

They have performed in venues across the UK and abroad, from back rooms to festival stages, taking in beaches, marquees, pubs and stately homes along the way.

The Clapham Grand is an iconic London live music venue, perfect for Grand Sandwich events. Jeremy says: “The events have proved to be a real family celebration, with the audience ranging from teens and early 20s (our children’s ages) to our ages (too old to mention!). The aim has always been to engage a everyone in a celebratory event that fundraises at the same time – an evening of dancing, singing, fun, laughter and perspiration!”
