West KentCaring for a child or young person who is struggling with their mental health can be incredibly challenging. Often the best way for parents and carers to get support is to connect with others who have been through something similar. This is known as parent and carer peer support (PCPS).

If your child or young person is receiving services, talk to the professional looking after your child and ask them if there are groups or projects for parents and carers in your area. You could also have a look at your local area information/local offer and search for terms like “children and young people’s mental health” “support for parents and carers” “parent carer peer support” “peer support” “parent and carer participation”.

National, Berkshire, BucksHosts a monthly online parent support group which runs virtually every third Tuesday of the month. We run two sessions at either 10.30am or 7.30 pm. A safe place to talk and get to know other parents and provide support to each other, facilitated by professionals.
