Ideas and inspiration
We’re always inspired by the imaginative ways you support the Charlie Waller Trust. Want to raise money for us, but don’t know where to start? Everybody needs a little inspiration sometimes. Whether you're fundraising at home, at school or at work; here are a few ideas to get you started!
At home
There are many ways you can fundraise from the comfort of your own home.
- Birthday fundraiser: instead of a birthday present, ask friends and family to donate to your fundraising page.
- Coffee morning: ask your friends round for cake and a cuppa in return for a donation.
- Dinner party: host your own ‘Come dine with me’ and hold a dinner party as a fundraiser. You could add a theme and ask your guests to dress up to match the theme.

At work
Fundraising at work can be a great way to get your colleagues together, while spreading awareness and raising funds for a cause you’re passionate about.
- Bake sale: from a small office cake sale to a full on ‘Bake off’ competition, sweet treats are always a great way to raise money!
- Dress-down day: ask everyone to dress down for the day and wear what they like, or flip its on its head and set a dress-up theme instead.
- Buy a lie-in: set a price to ‘buy’ a late start or early finish at work, £10 per hour for example. You could buy this for yourself or as a treat for a colleague.
- Donate your earnings: challenge your colleagues to donate an hour of their earnings to the Trust.
At school
We love when schools fundraise for us. It's also a great way to raise awareness among pupils of the importance of looking after their own mental health. Remember to get the school’s permission first before going ahead with any fundraising event.
- Sponsored silence: a popular one with the teachers! Let them enjoy some peace and quiet while students get sponsored for being silent.
- Non-uniform day: come to school in your own clothes in return for a donation.
- Sports tournament: get children active with a fun-filled sports day or five-aside football tournament.
- Quiz night: put pupils and parents to the test with a quiz.
