Mark and Rachel Waller
Sir Mark and Lady Waller founded the Charlie Waller Trust in 1997 after the sad loss of their son Charlie to suicide. Mark was our Chairman and Rachel was Head of Fundraising for over 20 years, both retiring in 2020.
Mark and Rachel remain involved with the Trust and both have the title of President, in recognition of their significant contribution to our work and the field of children's mental health and wellbeing.

Sir Mark Waller
Sir Mark became a QC in 1979 and was appointed to the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court of Justice in 1989. He was appointed to the Court of Appeal, and hence to the Privy Council, in 1996. He retired from the bench in 2010. He acted as Intelligence Services Commissioner from 2011 to 2016.
Sir Mark stepped down from the Board of Trustees in 2020 and was succeeded as Chairman by Richard, Charlie’s brother.

Lady Waller (Rachel)
Rachel Waller has a background in special needs education and has been a school governor.
Until the end of 2020, Rachel managed the Trust’s fundraising, organising extremely successful events, liaising with grant-giving bodies, reporting to Trustees on our income and supporting those who raised funds for us.
