The Big Give 2025 - Mental health: starting early, staying well

One donation, twice the impact

During our Big Give Christmas appeal every donation is doubled!

Between 2-9 December all donations will be matched until we reach our target of £52,000.

The appeal will fund our work with parents, carers, teachers and local communities. We’ll give them skills and confidence to spot problems, open conversations and get children and young people the support they need.

Mental health: starting early, staying well

One in five 8 to 25-year-olds in England have a probable mental health disorder. That’s over 2 million children and young people.

If young people are struggling with their mental health, it’s vital they get help as soon as possible. The money raised from our appeal will mean we can reach many more schools, colleges, universities, parents and carers. Our expert trainers will empower them to support children and young people, helping them look after their mental health and wellbeing now and into the future.

Seeing a child in your care struggling with anxiety, depression or other mental health issues is scary. It’s all the harder for many families who experience feelings of isolation, not having access to support, guidance and practical tools around how best to help.

We provide evidence-based resources, workshops and training for young people and those supporting them. We focus on preventing problems and catching them early. We provide our support free of charge but this is only possible with generous donations from our supporters.

Molly's story

The funds raised will help us make a life-changing difference to young people with mental health problems – people like Molly:

The importance of getting help as early as possible

When Molly showed signs of an eating disorder, her parents were desperate to help. Eating disorders affect many young people and can be really frightening and life-changing for many. We know early identification and family-based intervention can make all the difference to a young person’s journey. With specialist mental health services struggling to meet demand, our workshops and resources for parents and carers are more vital than ever.
