How to run your fundraiser

So, you know you want to host an event to raise money for the Charlie Waller Trust – great! Now to get cracking.

Here are our tips for how to organise a successful – and stress-free – fundraiser.

Register

Whatever you have planned, we are excited to hear more! Tell us about your fundraiser so that we can provide the best support possible!

Make a start

Setting up an online fundraising page using a platform such as JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving is nice and easy and is something that we would recommend.

Need a little help? No problem. Do get in touch.

Let everybody know!

Share details of your event with family, friends and colleagues and, where possible, ask them for support.

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn are brilliant ways to share updates - don’t forget to tag us @charliewalleruk

Gift Aid

It may be possible for those that are supporting you to Gift Aid their donation. This means the Charlie Waller Trust can reclaim 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 donated.

Good to know: if you have set up a fundraising page via JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving then Gift Aid, where applicable, will be calculated automatically. Excellent!

Matched Giving

Perhaps your workplace has a Matched Giving scheme in place? It's worth asking! Every penny raised helps us to keep the conversation going about mental health. It could really help to make a difference.

Fundraising downloads

We want to help make your event a huge success so whether it's a poster, a Gift Aid declaration form or a printable bunting template that you’re after, we have a selection of fundraising materials. Our fundraising team can talk you through what we can provide.

In addition, when registering your event you’ll be able to request collection buckets, banners, balloons etc for your event.
