Trekking in tartan and torrential rain!
Many of our supporters choose to raise funds for us after experiencing tragic loss. It's what motivated Jack Titley to take part in Edinburgh's 10-mile Kiltwalk from which, suitably attired, his team raised a magnificent £1,500 for the Trust.

Jack lost two people to suicide within the space of three months last year. He already knew about the Trust through a family friend, Robert Beaumont, Charlie's uncle, and said: "I thought it would be a lovely opportunity to make a positive difference in memory of two effervescent young people I loved by raising funds for the phenomenal organisation in Charlie's name."

Jack's adopted home
This was the first time Jack had organised a fundraising challenge. He explained why he chose the Kiltwalk: "My adopted home of Edinburgh is one of the great cities for walkers, with its hills, parks and beautiful architecture.
An utter joy
"As I love the restful and cathartic nature of walking, I felt the Kiltwalk was a perfect opportunity to manifest its mental health benefits whilst raising funds and awareness."
Along with his sister Mia and friends Morgan and Johanna, Jack completed the walk in eight hours. He said: "It was an utter joy to spend the day with three of my favourite people on behalf of Charlie Waller, especially given that we had all supported each other through a devastating 2024."
That joy was tested somewhat when torrential rain hit them three quarters of the way round but they "popped some cheesy tunes on a speaker which put a bit of pep back in our step!"
Crossing the finish line
It was all worth it as they crossed the finish line. Jack said: "The buzz of achievement, alongside the profound reflection on the reason we were there, was a heady cocktail I'll never forget."

Jack is already pondering what fundraising to do next. He said: "I'd recommend fundraising for the Trust to anyone. It's a great way of challenging yourself and experiencing something unique, while raising funds for a wonderful organisation bearing the name of a wonderful person. It's a total win-in - no matter what you do or how much you end up raising!"
Why not follow in Jack's footsteps and take on your own fundraising challenge? We'll support you all the way.
