BGC Charity Trading Day: a truly special event

Some days in the life of a charity are very special. Days you know are really going to help the cause.

This Monday was one of those.

We were privileged to be one of the beneficiaries of the BGC Charity Trading Day, held annually in memory of employees who died in the attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York City.

To be selected was wonderful and we were incredibly fortunate to have Clare Balding as our ambassador for the day.

To say Clare went beyond the call of duty in supporting the Trust on the day is an understatement!

She worked the phones, closing mammoth trade deals and spreading the word about the importance of young people’s health.

She did all this brilliantly, as we knew she would. She also, however, had no hesitation in posing for photos with some, er, unusual companions…

The theme for this year’s Trading Day was ‘farmyard fun’ and Clare gamely agreed to be snapped with this very cute meerkat.

Clare has supported the Trust on many occasions over the years. She said:

“It’s a big deal for the Charlie Waller Trust to get selected for this.

"Because not only does it raise funds, but it also allows us a chance to talk about the work that the charity is doing to support young people.”
